Kitchen Crafted

We have some changes when it comes to our lunch menus. Starting in March, Pal-Mac’s Food Services Team will be collaborating and introducing new “Kitchen Crafted” entrées and sides.
These menu items will be made mostly from scratch by the team, which is part of a larger shift away from foods the U.S. The Department of Agriculture (USDA) designates as “highly processed.”
The move comes ahead of planned adjustments to the USDA’s Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGAs), which will involve limiting the consumption of processed foods.
So what will this look like? When you visit our school lunch menu pages, you will notice the “Kitchen Crafted” category on the menu. This will be in addition to our “Main Entrées” and “Sides” categories.
Food Services Director Elesha Wheeler says the team will be introducing more of these minimally processed or completely from scratch menu items over the next few months.
The Palmyra-Macedon Central School District Food Service Program remains committed to providing healthy and nutritious meals to its students.
