Superintendent To Recommend New Transportation Supervisor

Scott Banner

The process for candidate selection to fill the position of Transportation Supervisor first began with an interim position to provide time to transition leadership and to give time for a thorough search. The process included collection of input from stakeholders, the formation of a candidate profile, the posting of the position, an application process, the screening of the applicants, conducting interviews (virtually) by a committee made up of district representatives including bus drivers/mechanic.

The final component of the process is the identification of a finalist for recommendation to the Board of Education.

At the May 5, 2020 meeting of the Board of Education, Mr. Scott Banner will be recommended for appointment as the next Pal-Mac Transportation Supervisor.

Mr. Banner first started working at Pal-Mac in November 2019, serving as the interim supervisor. Since that time and during a period of transition, he has partnered with transportation staff, principals and other leaders, and parents to bring new drivers to Pal-Mac, institute a new driver mentor program, and become a valued member of the district’s leadership team.

Those who have worked with Scott have said,  "Scott has strong people skills and leads by example!" "Scott has shown himself to be a forward thinker coming up with ways to better the transportation department at Pal-Mac and I feel he would be a huge asset to our district." “Scott is a good listener and has demonstrated that with our transportation staff.”

When asked about the position, Mr. Banner indicated, “I am very excited to continue our work to ensure positive growth.”

Mr. Banner has worked in school transportation for 25 years and the Palmyra-Macedon Central School District offers a continuing welcome to Mr. Scott Banner.
