DEC. 15, 2025—A group of PMP students recently received a special visit from an author with Pal-Mac connections!

Author John Sherwood stopped by to speak to students about his Charlie Moose series! Sherwood specifically read "Charlie...The Merry Christmoose" during his visit. Sherwood shared Charlie's journey to achieve his dream.

The series' themes of goals, perseverance and courage tie in to the upcoming Kindergarten Primary Years Programme (PYP) unit “How We Express Ourselves.” PYP Coordinator Mrs. Kate HerrGesell said students will be exploring the structure of stories as well as the roles of authors and illustrators, and developing their own methods to tell their favorite stories.

As a bonus, Pal-Mac is a special place Sherwood because his father, Walt Sherwood, was a teacher and coach here for many years.

A group of children, some wearing festive clothing, are gathered around a smiling adult in a classroom setting with various educational materials and displays visible in the background.
