JAN.29, 2025—Can you spell “success?” That’s exactly what the annual Middle School Spelling Bee was Tuesday night.
The evening featured three students competing on stage as they worked to correctly spell a variety of words. After a spell-off that lasted more than 15 rounds, sixth graders Nathaniel S. and JoDee Z. were named champion and co-champion, respectively.
Nathaniel clinched the win by correctly spelling “unorthodox.”

With the victory, both students advance to the Regional Spelling Bee, which will be hosted by Pal-Mac High School on Saturday, March 22. The regional winner will move on to the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.
Congratulations to Nathaniel, JoDee, and Cora M. for their efforts!
