MARCH 4, 2026— The Pal-Mac Middle School's National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) welcomed 14 new members during its annual induction ceremony Tuesday night.

The newest inductees include several students from 6th and 7th grade.

Congrats to: Graham Auckland, Luke Bailey, Kendall Breen, Avery Chaffin, Ellie Colarocco, Ashlynn Culp, Sawyer Graham, Mya Knapp, Gabriella Rice, Kiera Ryan, Lucas Salmon, Kono Vanphila, Lucielle Viens, and Elijah Welch.

The evening was coordinated by current 7th grade NJHS members, many of whom were inducted last year. As is tradition, the students selected a special guest speaker.

This year's speaker was Ms. Sami Dentel, a middle school art teacher and 2020 Pal-Mac graduate.

Ms. Dentel spoke about the importance of inclusivity and kindness in leadership.

"Leadership is having the courage to respectfully challenge, to advocate, and to model the change you want to see," Ms. Dentel said. "I've learned that leadership really shows up in how you treat people."

Following Ms. Dentel's remarks, inductees recited the NJHS Pledge and later signed the Chapter's register.

An ensemble from the Middle School Band also performed a short set.

All NJHS members are expected to attend quarterly meetings and complete twenty hours of community service outside of school throughout the school year.
