OCT.10, 2024—The Middle School put the future front and center over the last week as students took part in two career-centric opportunities.

First, 8th graders attended the annual Wayne County Career Carnival, which was held at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. Student participated in hands-on activities and watched demonstrations by professionals from state and local businesses and organizations. 

Groups rotated through several buildings and had a chance to try a little bit of everything. You can view a full photo gallery from the carnival by clicking here.

Next was the annual College and Career Day event.

Each grade level participated in a different experience designed to help students consider what path they would like to pursue in high school and following graduation. 

The activities included:

6th Grade - Career speakers at the middle school included professionals in the following fields: First Responders, Heating and Cooling, Pastry Arts, Farming, Sports & Entertainment Management, Video Streaming and Communications.

 

7th Grade - Field trip to the Wayne Technical and Career Center in Williamson.

 

8th Grade- Visits to area colleges and universities which included St. John Fisher, SUNY Brockport, MCC, Roberts Wesleyan, Nazareth, Finger Lakes Community College, and Keuka College.
