A group of people, including adults and children, are gathered together in what appears to be a classroom or community space, with an American flag and various decorations visible in the background.

NOV. 24, 2025—A group of Pal-Mac Intermediate School students received a special honor Friday, and it was all thanks to their efforts to keep their classmates safe.

Members of the school's Safety Patrol each received a Pal-Mac 75th Anniversary challenge coin, courtesy of District Director of Safety John Colella, and School Resource Officer Tim Bryant.

Colella and Officer Bryant presented the coins to the students in a ceremony in the PMI Library. The patrol does everything from hallway and bus loop safety to simply serving as a role model for their fellow students by following the District's "Red Raider READY" commitments.

"We're incredibly proud of our Safety Patrol volunteers for their responsibility, courage, and dedication in keeping our school safe every day," Colella said. "Thank you for being outstanding role models."

Patrol advisors Cat Mastowski and Shylo Winter each shared their gratitude for the students as well.

Congrats to: Maieve C., Lucas D., Kira F., Isabella J., Charlie L., Ava N., Beckett O., Violet R. , Knox R., Layla T., Kaiden S., Skylar W.
