APRIL 23, 2024—The Intermediate School recently provided an opportunity for third-grade students and their families to experience Ireland without actually traveling there.

The school hosted the annual "Cultural Arts Night" on Wednesday, April 17, and this year's event focused on Irish culture. Families were welcomed to celebrate Irish arts through creating art, enjoying a musical/dance performance and workshop, and viewing art inspired by the culture.

Students and families enjoyed an Irish step dancing performance and workshop led by the Goodwin Academy of Irish Dance. Teacher Jenny Pease mentioned that in preparation for this performance, third graders spent March and April learning about the three types of Irish dancing in music class.

The halls were decorated with student artwork inspired by designs in the "Book of Kells," and bookmarks featured a Celtic knot design.

Pease said there was also a flag activity celebrating the cultural ancestry at PMI.  Students created a flag and then used the Quiver App (AR) to animate it.
