DEC.18, 2023—Exciting news from the Intermediate School!
Students at all grade levels had the incredible opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of musical theatre at the Rochester Broadway Theater League (RBTL) Auditorium Theatre last week, where they witnessed the magical performance of "Annie."
Arts education is a component of learning in the District, and it's a study in which Principal Jenn Check shed some light on in the musical's program:
"Attending a performance is a unique and special opportunity for our students. Not only are they captivated by the show, they become interested in all of the elements involved in the performance, such as the lighting, musicians, sign language interpreters, sets, costumes and stage crew. In addition to fostering a love for the arts, these experiences plant seeds in the minds and hearts of our students about what may be possible for them in their future."
The trip was made possible through the District's participation in the A.R.T.S. (Arts Reaching and Teaching in Schools) Partners Program. As part of the program, a District can integrate themes from an RBTL performance into its curriculum.
A huge shoutout to our several volunteer chaperones for helping to make this possible!
