DEC. 19, 2025—With every spritz and sweep, Pal-Mac Intermediate School third-grade student Jeffery makes a difference.

When his lunch period starts to wind down, Jeffery starts up as he helps our PMI Cafe staff clean up. He says he first approached the cafe team at the beginning of the school year and hasn't looked back.

"I sweep, I dust, I wash tables, I do anything I can," Jeffery said.

Jeffery typically finishes his lunch and then reports over to where the cleaning supplies are. He grabs his bucket, and off he goes.

While he does use some of the school-provided equipment, Jeffery also uses some supplies he brought from home, including a duster, a cloth, and a broom. Most of the time, it's just Jeffery and the cafe team cleaning up, but he said some friends have joined along the way. He hopes others will continue to do their part as well.

"It's respectful to the people in this room," Jeffery said. "It makes me happy and grateful."
