MARCH 12, 2024— Pal-Mac Junior Morgan King was recently recognized for a big honor!

Morgan was one of 24 students from around the region to receive a 2024 New York State Youth Leadership Recognition Award!

New York State Senator Pam Helming presented Morgan with her award during a ceremony on March 8.

The award program recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional leadership and achievement in academics, athletics, music, arts, and/or community service. Students must first be nominated by an educator or community member.

High School Counselor Ms. Maureen Harris nominated Morgan for the award. Harris says she nominated Morgan based on her academics and involvement in extracurricular activities. She says Morgan has taken challenging and diverse courses throughout her high school experience to explore various subject areas as she decides her future plans.

Morgan is also involved in various extracurriculars, including Yearbook Club, Art Club and is commonly engaged in creating art in her spare time.

"Through my interactions with Morgan, she has always been inquisitive, respectful and motivated to do her best throughout her academic career." Ms. Harris said. "Morgan has a strong desire to help others achieve their goals and plans to pursue a career in workforce development."

Congrats, Morgan!
