FEB. 9, 2026— The Pal-Mac FFA chapter made school history over the weekend as it appeared in its first-ever Leadership Development Event (LDE) competitions.

The District 8 LDEs took place at Penn Yan Academy on Saturday, and featured chapters from all across the region.Pal-Mac's Parliamentary Procedure team earned 2nd place and is advancing to Substates. Parliamentary procedure is an event where students demonstrate their knowledge and leadership skills using parliamentary law.

The team consists of Kaelynn Sabatasso, Kelly Sanson, Kylie Wheeler, Shelby Suwyn, Emma Cretelle, and Ameilia West. Additionally, Sanson placed 5th in Prepared Public Speaking, and is also advancing to Substates!

Program director Ms. Camry Semans said she is proud of all of the chapter members who stepped up to compete and represent Pal-Mac. The chapter is operating in its first year.

"They showed courage, leadership, and dedication" Semans said.

In addition, chapter member Maddy Warren volunteered to help pack over 10,000 meals for local residents and helped Ms. Semans throughout the day.
