JAN. 28, 2026—Future ready was the focus Tuesday as the high school held the second-annual “Level Up Day.”

The day featured grade-level group meetings and seminars that touched on everything from student feedback, academic opportunities, and the course scheduling process, among others focuses.

Pal-Mac High School Principal Andy Wahl said going into year two of the event, the goal was to offer students more variety in programming. In addition to bringing back career planning and information on Seals of Civic Readiness/Biliteracy & Micro-Credentialing, the school featured Fastbridge and Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA) testing. Both programs monitor reading, math, and social-emotional behavior strengths.

“We wanted to look at how we could best use the day to provide a more productive setting for our students as we helped them "Level Up" for the future,” Mr. Wahl said.

As we reported on with the first edition of the event, “Level Up” is a term borrowed from video games, but in the school context, it’s meant as a way for students to challenge themselves academically.

Wahl said student feedback from last year’s event helped guide this year’s day, and will also be used for future events.
