APRIL 30, 2026— The Palmyra-Macedon School District was once again named one of Rochester’s Top Workplaces by the Democrat and Chronicle and USA Today.

The District was recognized during an awards ceremony Wednesday night at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

This year, Pal-Mac ranked sixth among 10 large companies in the region, and was one of 59 total companies honored.

The award is based on an annual employee survey which evaluates categories such as employee engagement and job satisfaction. The award is verified and earned through the process. Workplaces where employees offer positive feedback about their experience make the winners list.

The image shows a framed award certificate with the text "TOP WORK PLACES 2026" and "PALMYRA-MACEDON CSD" displayed against a blurred background with lighting effects.

This marks the sixth time Pal-Mac has received the honor since 2015, and the second consecutive year it finished in the top 10.

Additionally, Board of Education (BOE) President Laura Arrington also accepted the Meaningfulness Award on the District's behalf. Pal-Mac was selected for the award based on employees sharing they found meaning in what they do every day.

Mrs. Arrington's full statement can be found below:

"We often talk about the impact of our work and the power it holds. What I've come to realize is that the real impact lives in the quiet, everyday moments in how we show up for one another, how we support each other, and how we care.

I want to thank every member of our Pal-Mac staff for creating a workplace grounded in trust, kindness, and genuine care and most importantly, a place where everyone feels they belong.

This recognition belongs to all of you. Thank you."

The image shows a display with the title "Meaningfulness" and a name "Palmyra-Macedon CSD" below it, along with a red sign indicating "Top Work Places 2025" in the background.

Additionally, Superintendent Dr. Bob Ike said

"To be recognized as a Top Workplace yet again is truly humbling. This is not due to any one person or department, this award is the reflection of so many wonderful people who work every day to put our students first in our mission to help them learn, grow, and contribute.

Our team always goes the extra mile to ensure our students are ready for their futures beyond our classrooms. It’s the bus driver who stops to ask how a student’s day is going. It’s the cafeteria staff who share a smile with a student in the line, or the teacher who celebrates a student’s accomplishment in class, or the coach who shares confidence in a student-athlete.

These are just some of the many examples that truly make our District a top workplace."

Award attendees also included Dr. Ike, Board of Education Vice President Dave Landon, District Clerk Amber Jenkins, Deputy Superintendent Ralph Brongo, Primary School Principal Jamie Murphy, Director of Instructional Support Services Ken Azzarello, and Vice-President of the Pal-Mac Faculty Association Dan Harris.
