SEP.3, 2024— With just one day until students return for the 2024-2025 school year, the District took time Tuesday to celebrate its staff, and kick off the new year.

Faculty and staff came together in the High School Performing Arts Center for the annual Opening Day address and awards ceremony.

The event started with a rocking performance from a group of student musicians and singers under the direction of High School Band Director Deb Davis and Select Choir Director Katie Fisher.

Following the performance was an opening address from Board of Education President Laura Arrington, and a presentation from Superintendent Dr. Bob Ike.

Following their combined addresses, several staff members received awards for their dedication to the District and its students. Awards included the annual Staff Member and Teacher of the Year Awards, among others.

The District also recognized staff members with 20, 25, and 30+ years of service.
