MARCH 18, 2025– Pal-Mac junior Ryan Allen has been chosen to play in the 2025 Scotty Bowman Showcase, an annual event featuring the best high school hockey players from Buffalo and Rochester.

The games will take place on Wednesday, April 9, at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, home of the Buffalo Sabres.

Allen plays for the WFL Panthers, a combined team made up of players from several local school districts. He and his brother, Sean, are the only two Pal-Mac players on the team.

Players were selected by a panel of high school, prep, and junior hockey coaches from Buffalo and Rochester, along with members of the Buffalo Sabres.

Making the showcase roster is a major honor, as only the top players from Section V and Buffalo were chosen.

This season, Ryan’s strong performance on the ice caught the attention of coaches, who voted to include him in the showcase. Ryan finished in the top 10 for points among all of Section V (Five), as he scored 15 goals and tallied 23 assists.

His efforts also earned him a spot on Section V's First Team All-Star list.

Ryan and his selected teammates will compete for Tim Horton Memorial Cup, where they will be up against players from the Buffalo area.

The game, which starts at 5 p.m., will consist of two 22-minute halves.
