JAN.8., 2025 — Students and staff at the Pal-Mac Primary School Wednesday marked a major milestone for the District while celebrating a milestone of its own!

The building celebrated the upcoming 75th anniversary of the Palmyra-Macedon Central School District on the District’s 75th day of the school year.

The festivities kicked off with a building-wide morning meeting led by an enthusiastic group of second grade leaders. The young emcees welcomed students and staff, who were all sporting 75th anniversary paper hats and specially-made t-shirts.

Students then performed a short reenactment detailing how the Palmyra and Macedon school districts united in 1950. The creative and informative skit highlighted key moments from the merger in a fun and engaging way.

But the fun didn’t stop there, as everyone was encouraged to join in on some light exercises led by the Red Raider mascot.

The group of student leaders were under the direction of second grade teacher Courtney Furno, and math teacher Cherie Dragomani.

“They were all super courageous and stepped up to the challenge to speak in front of the whole school, “ Furno said. “And they all did a great job.”

When the meeting wrapped up, classes could take group photos in front of a light-up “75” display. Additionally, the hallways were decorated with student artwork celebrating the 75th birthday.

The District’s 75th anniversary celebrations will continue throughout the year, culminating in a special celebration on June 4, 2025.
