In recent weeks, school districts and other public sector agencies across New York State and the nation have been the target of cyber-attacks. The attacks have resulted in system disruption, data loss and credential theft.
In response to recent events, the Palmyra-Macedon Central School District is working closely with Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES to enhance protections and safeguards of computing and data systems. According to Pal-Mac Director of Instructional Technology Chip Dolce, security testing of systems has taken place and the implementation of additional security measures is ongoing. The State of New York has also taken steps to ensure its systems, including those used by the district, are as safe as possible.
Pal-Mac will continue to work under the guidance of local and state agencies to align with cyber security policies and procedures.
