100 Days of School

During the first 100 days of school, students at Palmyra Elementary School have read 100s and 100s of books!

Across all genre… including fantasy, realistic fiction, history, sports, crafts, biography, riddles and jokes, historical fiction, and humorous fiction, children chose and read books.  Many were also read about planets and stars, animals, holidays, and mysteries, too.

As our youngest readers gain reading confidence and words, the I Can Read section is a very busy place!

Readers Explore the Dewey Decimal System

4th and 5th graders learn about the Dewey Decimal System and how it makes a difference in how libraries’ collections are arranged.  The “hundreds” groups have space for everything in the nonfiction collection – from myths to science to recreation to history and biography.  What a great system Mr. Melvil Dewey started over 100 years ago!

Online Catalog

All throughout our school and on the web, Palmyra Elementary’s Library Catalog is available.  With a new server installed recently at the School Library System in Newark, the catalog should be more consistently available.  Search, locate, and print to locate books and borrow them during the school day.
