MIDDLE SCHOOL COUNSELING DEPARTMENT |

|
Students will take courses in Math, Social Studies, Science, ELA, and Reading for every year they are in the middle school. Starting in 7th grade, students are required to take a language other than English, and choose between either Spanish and French. In 6th and 7th grades, all students will take Technology, Art, Health, and Family & Consumer Sciences (FACS) for 10 weeks. In 8th grade, they will take an extra 10 weeks of Technology, which replaces Health. All students must take General Music in 6th grade, but if they opt to take Band and/or Chorus in 7th or 8th grade, they won’t be required to continue General Music. All students take P.E. for every year they are in the middle school. Students may choose to take both Band and Chorus in the middle school. Students may be required to take an Academic Intervention Services (AIS) class in Reading, Math, or ELA, in order to improve their understanding of that subject. If any periods are free in the day, students may have a study hall to complete their homework. All students will have a 35-minute lunch period. |
